You only need 3 chords to start playing county songs! I'll show you them right here on this page.

I want you to take a look at the 3 guitar chord charts below. 

These are by far the the most popular country guitar songs.
C major country guitar chord

This is the C major chord.

Have you seen it before? Maybe you have, maybe you havent. But regardless, give it a try!

Your fingers are numbered like this:

1 = index
2 = middle
3 = ring
4 = smallest finger

G Major country guitar chord
Can you play this G major chord too?

Try it!

And then try this....

Keep your third and fourth fingers in the same position as they are in this G chord...

Now, move your first and second finger down one string each.

This will give you an alternate way to play the C major guitar chord!

If you didn't quite understand that last bit, don't worry! Most people won't. If you did, You're doing very well.

I want you to try switching between the C and G chords before moving to the third chord. Practice for a minute or two at least...

The last country guitar chord is called the D major chord
.
