Free Guitar Scale Lesson
This is the second free guitar scale lesson in this series. You'll learn how to play some great acoustic guitar scales... or you can play them on your electric guitar if you've got one! Remember: Play these scales with your metronome! You don't want to practice guitar scales more than you have to! So I recommend that all of my students invest in a nice metronome. I use the Ultimate Metronome because of all of the great features and bonuses it comes with.
You can learn more about the Ultimate Metronome here...
Lets get to the Guitar Lesson! Here's the second version of the C-major scale. It starts on a 'G' note. E --------------------------------------------3--5--7--- B --------------------------------------5--6------------ G -----------------------------4--5--7------------------ D --------------------3--5--7--------------------------- A -----------3--5--7------------------------------------ E --3--5--7--------------------------------------------- When practicing this scale (and the first version aswell!) you should say the notes out loud. Recall that the C-major scale is just like the Alphabet! No sharps, no flats. So for this version, the scale goes: G, A, B, C, D, E, F, G, A... etc. It's not difficult to say these letters out loud, but doing so will really increase your understanding of the neck. Knowing the notes on your guitar is something that most guitarists are missing... and you'll know them all once you get through this guitar scale series!
